Graduation Procedure

Steps to follow to graduate:

  1. Ask a professor to be your supervisor. The discipline they teach must be included in your study plan, as it will frame your thesis.
  2. Fill in the thesis request form with the professor’s signature and the thesis title (please see the file below); then email it to didattica.scipog@unime.it. This must be done 6 months before the graduation date for Master’s degrees.
  3. Once the thesis is completed with the professor’s approval, log in to your Esse3 portal and upload the following documents by the deadline specified under Graduation Session Details (Lauree):
  • A valid ID document;
  • The title page (signed by your professor) (please see the file below);
  • The final version of the thesis;
  • The plagiarism check report (for the video tutorial click here);
  1. Send an abstract of your thesis (maximum 2 pages) by email to agiaimo@unime.it at least 3 days before your graduation date.
  2. Prepare a short English presentation about your thesis to deliver at your graduation defence.
  3. Print a minimum of three copies of your thesis, bound and professional-looking. The copy shop knows what to do. You need one copy for yourself, one for your professor, and one for the university files.

Important note:

The online application for graduation and thesis submission will open 40 days before the graduation date. Students are advised to start the online graduation procedure as early as possible and not to wait until the deadline, to allow time to resolve any technical issues and better organise the graduation session. The process consists of several steps and can be edited until it is officially submitted. You do not have to complete it all in one day. The signed title page and final thesis can be uploaded later. The online procedure closes 7 working days before the graduation ceremony.
